Two dead bodies. A corrupt trafficking ring. A betrayal that’ll shake Mildenheath to the core.

Two dead bodies are found buried beneath undergrowth just outside Mildenheath. The race is on to uncover their identities and catch their killers.

When two young men tell police they’ve escaped with their lives from a local brothel where they were kept as male prostitutes, DCI Jack Culverhouse and DS Wendy Knight are left facing a case like no other before.

But as their investigation into the people traffickers and kidnappers gets deeper, they realise the ringleaders will stop at nothing to evade justice.

Wow I am always stuck for words really when it comes the the culvergouse and knight series. Every book are just brilliant, I honestly didn’t think they could get any better, but once again Adam Croft as proven me wrong again. Dead and Buried is a don’t want to put down book, with human trafficking and then being help against their will, sorry no spoilers from me. It’s a fast paced and not very far from the truth these days. Adam Croft brings such real live incidents to the forefront of topics that are really going on. Although this book was a novel human trafficking is not. It’s real and going on quite a lot. I am glad Adan Croft has the foresight to write a novel with so much emotion and reality, now that’s not saying part of the book or any of it are true, it’s a novel and one worth reading as all his books do. He’s a fantastic writer and brings his book and characters to life. Full praise for Adam Croft, for being such a excellent writer, if you really really want to read a series of books you will never forget then Culverhouse &knight are definitely the series to read. It’s most definitely recommend as a MUST READ, Thanks again Adam Croft. Now waiting for book 9 with great anticipation. Do read must read

Quite a sensitive story to cover but Adam Croft tackled it well. Not quite the 5* the majority of his other books have been but still a good book. Hope there’ll be a book 9!

Detective stories with an insight into the lives of the characters. I shall be sad when I get to the last book in the series.

The plot of this novel – human trafficking - is interesting, but in some ways it seems to be a bit of a side-line to the more indepth developments within the Mildenheath CID. We see the return to work of Wendy Knight after her horrendous injury in the previous novel and hopefully her private life with Xav is improving. Likewise, Jack Culverhouse seems to be making progress with his daughter and perhaps his private life is also looking promising once more. I really enjoyed this aspect, as it’s good to follow the lives of the major characters in a series and keeps you coming back for more. Naturally the policing side of the story is exciting and well executed with the criminals finally being brought to justice, with a fast paced ending which really prevents you from putting the book down.Once more I can highly recommend Adam Croft’s Knight & Culverhouse series. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of them and really hope that book 9 will not be far away.
